2 Month Shot Advice.. Please Help!

Swedyn is going in for her 2 month app. next week, which means time to start shots. I really need advice on what to do. Scott and I dont want to give her all her shots all at once, and want to space them out, she is too tiny to have so many. I have heard some people wait till the baby is 2 yrs of age to even start them. ???
If you are a mother, what have you done for your babies?

Many people have given me a hard time about waiting to get my children immunized. Working at the hospital I see both sides. I waited until Ezra was 2 and will with Chandler as well. Another option is to only go with one series of shots at a time. For instance, do the entire series of Hep B, wait several months and start the next series. Reactions are less likely if you do it this way. Also premedicate her with tylenol or ibuprofen before you go!

Hard choices!!! I felt 2 months was to early. I waited til she was a little older like 6 months! We did the whole one shot at a time thing! But becuase Logan works at a hospital and sees TONS of junk and probably BRINGS home some sick stuff. I wanted her immunized as soon as I felt she was old enough to handle them. Brooklyn did fine with all of her shots. I gave her meds before she got them. Seriously SOO many baby get there shots at 2 months and do fine but Mothers instinks are the best choice!!

i am PRO shots. i didnt wait with brynlee or jade. jade had her 2 month shots a month ago and was fine. yes, she cried for a minute but what kid doesnt. i did give her tylenol (you cant give infants motrin) an hour before. that helps a lot. tough decision but you are the mom so go with your gut. you will make the right choice for her.

I have done both my boys shots at the appoined time. Working at a hospital I didnt want them to catch all the nasty stuff that goes around. They both cried of course, but after the doctor left the room i would stay in there and nurse thme for as long as it took to calm them down. It seemed to help alot. It is sad to watch them hurt but I would much rather have them get poked a couple of times than to get sick and be poked and proded for who knows how long, and go through treatments for something that couldve been prevented with a shot. But you are them mom and if you feel she is not ready than go with it.

hi kiara! your daughter is beautyful! i love that you are asking advice for this subject- i too still stress about shots. but even with all the advice it's still your decision and how you and scott feels- with that said i always have brian give them father blessings the night before they go get their shots... that helps with the peace of mind. my two older girls just got their shots completed last summer which was really late but perfect because i think that 2 mos is too young. i waited 6mos for landen because i wanted to make sure that he was ok.. because that is when their personality shows alot. and then if he gets shots and he is different then i would know if it was the shots. does that make sence? i defenitly think that shots are very good and we are so blessed to have them... but i agree with they are staring shots way to young. good luck! i hope you feel good about the decicion you make!

Gotta love shots eh? Well, Judd has had his shots at his 2 and 4 month check ups. It was a tough choice for me to make, especially because my mom is so against vaccinations. Judd did fine both times. I did a lot of research and read many different things, so it helped me make the choice a little easier. I agree with all of the other mom's to number one, go with your gut Kiara, you are her mother, and you know whats best for her. Second...give her tylenol infant drops an hour before you go and continue to keep on top of it every 4-6 hours after for about 2 days. You'll make the right choice, a womans intuition is always the best!

I just did Dylan's shots as they were recommended by the Pediatricians of America. He did fine and hasn't had a cold since. Plus living down here there are more people and a way higher exposure to the germs floating around from other people. There typically isn't ever any serious reaction aside from a slight fever (which baby's so young usually get in the evening anyway) and sleeping. Dylan would sleep really well right after and all through the night that night. I got mine done in the AM so in case there was a problem, we weren't running off in the middle of the night to the ER or Urgent Care.

I would go with your instinct tho. If YOU aren't feeling right about giving Liberty her shots so young, let her pediatrician know when you go in for the well-visit. :)

I got Paxtons shots at 2 months. I had heard lots of stuff about them too. For me it felt right to just have Paxton get his. I agree with pretty much what everyone else said that you will know what to do for your kids. Just go with what you feel.
